LennyBot 5000
A downloadable game for Windows
LennyBot 5000 is a 2D platformer game with branching dialogue that affects the player character stats and storyline. In the game, you play as a teenager with mental health issues who has trouble with truancy at school, bullying, and self-esteem. Your therapist, Lenny Leibowitz, has developed a nanobot that’s implanted in your brain to help repair your neurological abnormalities. Due to HIPAA restrictions, Lenny cannot control the robot in your brain, but he can guide you through it as you jump from neuron to neuron looking for the right brain region to fix.
Each level is a therapy session, where you tell Lenny what’s bothering you and direct the nanobot to the area of the brain that needs maintenance. The game places heavy emphasis on narrative elements, allowing the player to choose their own character development and uncover details about their lives as the gameplay progresses.
